It's a DCOM problem. Maybe a privilege issue with the MDM accounts which you need to fix, and then DCOM should be able to use it. This is not a CSS issue.

Hi,

I have successfully installed the DRM and created the users MDM_DB and MDM_SYSTEM with default passowrd.

Still I am getting the following error:

vent Type: Error
Source: MDM NTier Service
Date/Time: 7/9/2010 3:31:36 PM
Exception in Data Relationship Management Service: EOleException: The object invoked has disconnected from its clients

Event Type: Error
Source: MDM NTier Process Manager
Date/Time: 7/9/2010 3:31:36 PM
Exception Emdm_Exception with message 'Process Manager is not initialized.'

Event Type: Error
Source: MDM NTier Process Manager
Date/Time: 7/9/2010 3:31:36 PM
Exception Emdm_Exception with message 'External Exception EAccessViolation with message 'Access violation at address 014A84C0 in module 'mdm_ntier_process_manager.dll'. Read of address 00000014'. Check server application log for detailed bug report.

Database test connection is successful.

I have checked the COM+ components using DCOMCnfg.exe and MDM ProcessManager, MDM Director, MDM EvenManager components are available.

Even Common Security Services, I have Enabled the CSS and it got registered successfully.

What could be the reason for issue and Where to check for Server Application Log.

You need to be more specific on the error manage to resolve this (i.e. if restarting doesn't work). In many cases, it's login issues with the backend Oracle or SQLServer database.

Try reinstalling the client should solve the problem. If this doesn't work, it may be that you have not define the connection. Make sure you click and "Test Connection" first.

Hi Daniel,
I am trying to work with an 11.1.1.1 demo drive that includes DRM. When trying to login to the DRM client I received the following error message:
“A String literal was expected, but no opening quote character was found. Line 20 Server Error in ‘/.

I have read all of the posts and updated the users via lusrmgr.msc. I assigned the mdm_db and mdm_system users to the Administrators group. Recycled MDM etc and I'm still receiving the same error message. Any other thoughts? I am really stuck!

Many thanks!

There isn't any documentation as such from version 8. The DRM database structure is very different, you will have to rebuild it. Shouldn't be too hard. Let us know how we can help.

Regards,
Daniel Poon
